Adult Day Support Program

These programs are designed for adults (over 18 years of age) who may have physical and/or memory challenges or are living with a chronic illness. They provide clients with a regular outing one or two times a week and caregivers with a break.

Alberta Aids to Daily Living Program

This program provides authorized medical equipment and supplies to enable persons who have a long-term disability or a chronic or terminal illness to live independently in a home or similar setting.

Alberta Child Health Benefit

This program provides premium-free health benefits to children living in low-income families.

To be eligible, you must not be receiving

• Alberta Works - Alberta Adult Health Benefit
• Alberta Works - Income Support
• Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)

Alberta Works - Alberta Adult Health Benefit

This plan is for individuals and families with limited incomes. It pays for health services, such as eyeglasses, prescription drugs and dental care that are not available through standard Alberta Health Care Insurance.

Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)

This program provides financial assistance and health benefits to adults with permanent disabilities that severely impair their ability to earn a living.

To be eligible, you must not be receiving

• Old Age Security (OAS)

Dental and Optical Assistance for Seniors Program

Provides low- to moderate-income seniors with financial assistance for basic dental and optical services.

Interim Federal Health Program

The Interim Federal Health Program provides temporary health insurance to refugees, protected persons and refugee claimants, as well as to their dependants, in Canada who are not yet covered by a provincial or territorial health insurance plan.

Non-Insured Health Program (NIHB) for First Nations and Inuit

This program provides provides registered Indians and recognized Inuit and Innu with a wide range of health benefits.

Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD)

This program provides funding for staff-supports for adult Albertans with developmental disabilities. Services are provided to support individuals in their home, work and social environments based on individual need.
