Allowance for the Survivor

This program provides a monthly non-taxable benefit to low-income widows who are not yet eligible for the Old Age Security pension.

Allowance Program

Allowance is a monthly benefit for low-income seniors (aged 60-64) whose spouse or common-law partner is eligible for, or currently receiving, the Old Age Security (OAS) pension and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).

Additional Information

• Apply up to 12 months before your 60th birthday.
• If you have already reached the age of 60, send your application as soon as possible.
  

Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Retirement Pension

The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Retirement Pension provides a monthly taxable benefit to retired contributors.

Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)

This program provides a monthly non-taxable benefit to low-income Old Age Security recipients.

International Benefits

The International Benefits program may provide retirement, disability or survivor benefits to eligible individuals who have lived or worked in another country, or the surviving spouse, common-law partner or children of eligible individuals who have lived or worked in another country.

Old Age Security (OAS)

This pension provides a monthly taxable benefit to persons 65 years of age and over.

Personal Allowance - Elderly and Disabled Program

This program provides a monthly personal allowance to adults who reside in a long-term care facility.

Senior Citizen Supplementary Benefit

This program provides additional financial support to low-income seniors receiving Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Senior Citizens Motor Vehicle Service Discount

Seniors who are over the age of 60 can receive a discount of 50% on annual fees for motor vehicle registrations and driver's licences.

Senior Citizens' and Disabled Persons' Property Tax Relief

This program helps seniors and persons with disabilities pay less or no property tax depending on the type of property owned or occupied.
