Debt Reduction Grant

This program provides a grant to post-secondary school graduates to reduce the amount of their student loan debt.

Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP)

This program provides financial assistance to Status Indian and Inuit students who are enrolled in eligible post-secondary programs, which includes: community college and CEGEP diploma or certificate programs; undergraduate programs; and advanced or professional degree programs.

Faculty of Education Post-Internship Work Experience Program for Rural Newfoundland and Labrador

This program offers students enrolled in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland a placement that integrates classroom and work site in order to improve the student's employability.

Partnership for Academic and Career Education and Employment Program (PACEE)

This program offers full-time summer employment (on campus) to students at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) and College of the North Atlantic (CNA).

Tutoring Work Experience Program

Post-secondary students may earn a tuition voucher plus a weekly stipend by tutoring high school students in person who are preparing for year-end exams.

Tutoring for Tuition Program

This program provides high school students an opportunity to tutor other students in their school environment and/or through distance education while earning a tuition voucher towards post-secondary education.

Student Work and Service Program

This program is designed to provide funding to profit and not-for-profit organizations to create summer job opportunities for students attending or returning to post-secondary institutions. It provides work experience for students and helps offset the cost of a post-secondary education.

Student Employment Program (Level I, II, III)

This program creates summer job opportunities for students enrolled in Level I, II or III.

University College Entrance Preparation Program (UCEPP)

This program is intended to provide financial assistance to Status Indian and Inuit students enrolled in university or college entrance programs to help them achieve the academic level required to enter degree or diploma programs.

Legal Excellence Program

The Legal Excellence Program, which is offered in two phases, provides employment opportunities to law students, articling law students, and junior lawyers and notaries.

Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Program- Doctoral Scholarships

The Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Program - Doctoral Scholarships provides scholarships to doctoral students who have achieved academic excellence in their undergraduate and graduate studies in the field of social sciences and humanities.

Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program - Master's Scholarships

The Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program - Master's Scholarships provides funding to students who are pursuing full-time studies at the master's level in the social sciences and humanities field.

Youth Employment

This program offers an introduction to career options/personal development sessions to youth.

Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Fisheries Scholarship

This scholarship is valued at $1,000 for students graduating high school and pursuing post-secondary education. Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must submit a 2,500 word essay describing what he or she feels is the biggest issue facing the province's fishing industry and provide solutions for how that issue would be best addressed. As well, academic standing and extracurricular activities are examined. The scholarship aids in lightening the financial burden of a higher education and provides encouragement for youths to become informed about the industries which are sustaining our economy and have influenced our culture for centuries.

EDC International Business Scholarships

EDC awards up to 30 scholarships annually, 25 of which go to undergraduate university or college students interested in pursuing a career or furthering their studies in international business, with up to 5 additional scholarships for students in programs which combine business with environmental or sustainability studies. An EDC scholarship is worth a $4,000 cash award. Scholarships will be awarded in spring and issued in autumn at the start of the academic year.

Undergraduate Student Research Awards Program

Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) are meant to stimulate your interest in research in the natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage you to undertake graduate studies and pursue a research career in these fields. If you would like to gain research work experience that complements your studies in an academic setting, these awards can provide you with financial support through your host university. NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students to apply to this program.

Funding

If you are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, have completed or are about to complete a bachelor's degree, or are already pursuing a master's degree in the humanities or social sciences, you may be eligible to apply for a master's scholarship.

Rural Practice Work Experience for Medical Students Program

This is a summer employment program that provides an incentive for medical students at Memorial University of Newfoundland to avail of relevant employment in rural Newfoundland and Labrador.

Student Summer Employment Program

The objective of this program is to provide career-related work experience in the public service for post-secondary students with disabilities.

Explore Program

The Explore program offers bursaries to Canadian students so that they can participate in intensive five-week language-learning courses in English or French at accredited institutions across Canada.

Destination Clic

The Destination Clic program offers bursaries to Canadian francophone students who reside in a province or territory other than Quebec to participate in a three-week intensive language-learning course in French at accredited institutions.

Federal Student Work Experience Program

FSWEP provides full-time students valuable, hands-on work experience related to their field of study and allows for a wealth of learning opportunities. Students obtain fair and equal access to job opportunities across the country. Although students are not required to have previous work experience to apply, they must meet the program's eligibility criteria.

NRC Co-op Program

The National Research Council Co-op Program offers work terms to post-secondary students so that they can acquire practical and professional work experience.

The Off-Campus Work Permit Program

The Off-Campus Work Permit Program allows certain foreign students to work off campus while completing their studies.

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program allows students who have graduated from a participating Canadian post-secondary institution to gain valuable Canadian work experience.

Up-Front Provincial Grants

The Up-Front Provincial Grants program provides grants to students if the assessed need is greater that $60 per week of study for the provincial student loan.

Small Enterprise Co-op Placement Assistance Program

Students of co-operative programs at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) and College of the North Atlantic (CNA) are provided a work-term placement related to their field of study; placement will be within Newfoundland and Labrador

Odyssey - Full-Time Language Assistant Program

This program provides post-secondary students with the opportunity to work as full-time language assistants in educational settings across Canada.

Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)

This plan enables registered retirement savings plan participants to temporarily withdraw tax-free funds from their RRSP to finance training or education.

Community Forestry: Trees and People - John G. Bene Fellowship

This fellowship provides financial assistance to Canadian graduate students conducting research on community forestry in developing countries.
