Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB)

This benefit is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families with children under 18. It may include the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS), a benefit for low-income families with children, and/or the Child Disability Benefit (CDB), a benefit for families caring for children with severe and prolonged disabilities.

Child Rearing Drop-Out Provision (CRDP)

This program allows periods of low or zero Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contribution to be excluded from the calculation of CPP benefits when these periods are spent caring for a child under the age of seven.

At Home Program

The At Home Program assists parents with some of the extraordinary costs of caring for a child with severe disabilities at home through a range of health supports and services.

Canada Learning Bond

The Canada Learning Bond provides a grant to families whose children are born in 2004 or later and who receive the National Child Benefit Supplement.

BC Family Bonus

This program provides a monthly tax-free payment to low- and moderate-income families with dependent children under age 18. The program includes the Basic BC Family Bonus and the BC Earned Income Benefit.

This program serves children from birth to three years old who are at risk for, or who already have, a delay in development. The program consultants work with parents to provide a range of services to help children overcome developmental challenge.

Healthy Kids Program

This program provides basic dental and vision care to children in low and moderate-income families.

School Aged Therapy Program

This program provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy services to assist eligible children and youth in achieving optimal independence and meeting their educational goals. Therapists work with family members, teachers and teaching assistants to support the student's:access to learning opportunities, and; inclusion and participation at school and in the community.

Family Support

These services include a wide range of support for families of children and youth with disabilities. They support families to provide the additional care children with special needs may require and strive to maximize quality of life for the child and family.

Natal Supplements

This program provides a monthly benefit to expectant women on income assistance and families with infants up to seven months old.

Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG)

The Canada Education Savings Grant is a grant from the Government of Canada to help you start saving early for your child's education after high school.

Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program

This program provides care for children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and related eating disorders.

Child Disability Benefit (CDB)

This program provides a non-taxable supplement to low- and moderate-income families to help them with the costs of raising children under 18 who have a severe and prolonged mental or physical impairment.

Aboriginal Head Start in Urban and Northern Communities

The Aboriginal Head Start in Urban and Northern Communities Program is a community-based children's program delivered by the Public Health Agency of Canada. It focuses on early childhood development for First Nations, Inuit and Métis children and their families living off-reserve.

Family Maintenance Program

This program seeks maintenance payments on behalf of dependent family members from those who are legally obligated and financially able to pay.

Additional Information

• Dependent family members must be in need of BC Employment and Assistance.

Parenting After Separation

This program provides resources to help families adjust to separation and divorce and deal with issues such as collecting child support and handling debt.

Children Who Witness Abuse (Children and Youth for Domestic Peace)

This program is for children and adolescents who have witness abuse/violence in their home.
