Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD)

This program provides funding for staff-supports for adult Albertans with developmental disabilities. Services are provided to support individuals in their home, work and social environments based on individual need.

Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) On-Reserve

This program provides funding to First Nation councils and members so that they can repair on-reserve housing that does not meet minimum federal health and safety standards, or make homes accessible to persons with disabilities.

Special Needs Assistance for Seniors

This program provides a lump-sum payment to qualifying low-income seniors (aged 65 and over).

To be eligible, you must also be receiving

• Old Age Security (OAS)

Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)

This program provides financial assistance and health benefits to adults with permanent disabilities that severely impair their ability to earn a living.

To be eligible, you must not be receiving

• Old Age Security (OAS)

Alberta Aids to Daily Living Program

This program provides authorized medical equipment and supplies to enable persons who have a long-term disability or a chronic or terminal illness to live independently in a home or similar setting.

Long-Term Care

This program provides regular treatment and continuing nursing care to seniors and persons with persistent mental illnesses or physical disabilities.

Federal Excise Gasoline Tax Refund Program

The Federal Excise Gasoline Tax Refund Program refunds a portion of the federal excise tax on gasoline bought for use by eligible persons or organizations.

Adult Day Support Program

These programs are designed for adults (over 18 years of age) who may have physical and/or memory challenges or are living with a chronic illness. They provide clients with a regular outing one or two times a week and caregivers with a break.

Residential Access Modification Program (RAMP)

This program provides grants to homeowners and tenants that are using a wheelchair on a continuing basis to facilitate access into and movement within their homes.
