International Benefits

The International Benefits program may provide retirement, disability or survivor benefits to eligible individuals who have lived or worked in another country, or the surviving spouse, common-law partner or children of eligible individuals who have lived or worked in another country.

Saskatchewan Pension Plan (SPP)

Saskatchewan Pension Plan is a voluntary, money purchase plan for people who want an easy way to accumulate funds for retirement. The Plan is available to people between 18 and 71 years of age.

Old Age Security (OAS)

This pension provides a monthly taxable benefit to persons 65 years of age and over.

Allowance for the Survivor

This program provides a monthly non-taxable benefit to low-income widows who are not yet eligible for the Old Age Security pension.

Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Retirement Pension

The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Retirement Pension provides a monthly taxable benefit to retired contributors.

Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)

This program provides a monthly non-taxable benefit to low-income Old Age Security recipients.

To be eligible, you must also be receiving

• Old Age Security (OAS)

Allowance Program

Allowance is a monthly benefit for low-income seniors (aged 60-64) whose spouse or common-law partner is eligible for, or currently receiving, the Old Age Security (OAS) pension and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).

Additional Information

• Apply up to 12 months before your 60th birthday.
• If you have already reached the age of 60, send your application as soon as possible.
  

Seniors Income Plan

This plan supplies a monthly benefit to low-income seniors (aged 65 and over) who have little or no income other than Old Age Security (OAS) benefits and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) benefits.

To be eligible, you must also be receiving

• Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
• Old Age Security (OAS)

Home Care Program

This program provides home care services to individuals who may otherwise require hospital or long-term care facilities.
