Prescription Drug Coverage

Income Support - Health Related Services

These services and benefits are available to those in receipt of Income Support. If you are not in receipt of Income Support you may still be eligible for some of these services; however an Application for Income Support must be completed and assessed.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) - The 65Plus Plan

This plan provides a drug subsidy to seniors (aged 65 and over) who are registered with Old Age Security and who receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement.

To be eligible, you must also be receiving

• Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)

The Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) - The Access Plan

This plan gives individuals and families with low incomes access to eligible prescription medications. The amount of coverage is determined by net income level and family status.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) - The Assurance Plan

This plan offers protection for individuals and families against the financial burden of eligible high drug costs, whether be it from the cost of one extremely high cost drug or the combined cost of different drugs.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) - The Foundation Plan

This plan provides 100 per cent coverage of eligible prescription drugs for those who need the greatest support.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) - The Select Needs Plan

This plan provides 100 per cent coverage for disease specific medications and supplies for residents with Cystic Fibrosis and Growth Hormone Deficiency.

Non-Insured Health Program (NIHB) for First Nations and Inuit

This program provides provides registered Indians and recognized Inuit and Innu with a wide range of health benefits.
