Premium assistance program

This subsidy helps people with low incomes cover Alberta Health Insurance Plan premiums and/or Non-Group Drug Plan .

Prescription Drug Coverage for Seniors

This program provides premium-free drug coverage for Albertan seniors (aged 65 and older) and their dependents.

To be eligible, you must also be receiving

• Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan

Alberta Monitoring For Health (AMFH) Program

This program enables Albertans with diabetes, who meet eligibility requirements, to access limited funding to cover a portion of the cost of eligible diabetes management supplies.

Rare Diseases Drug Program

This program helps Albertans with extremely rare genetic disorders to pay for their prescription drugs.

Alberta Works - Alberta Adult Health Benefit

This plan is for individuals and families with limited incomes. It pays for health services, such as eyeglasses, prescription drugs and dental care that are not available through standard Alberta Health Care Insurance.

Non-Group Prescription Drug Coverage

This program provides prescription drug coverage to all residents of Alberta (under age 65).

Palliative Care Drug Coverage

This program provides premium-free drug coverage for patients who are in the end stages of a terminal illness and are treated at home.

Non-Insured Health Program (NIHB) for First Nations and Inuit

This program provides provides registered Indians and recognized Inuit and Innu with a wide range of health benefits.
