The Emergency Repair Program offers financial assistance for very low-income owner-occupiers who live in rural areas and whose current residence has one or more major defects that pose an immediate threat to the health or safety of its occupants.

The assistance is not paid until the work has been completed. It cannot exceed the cost quoted or billed by the contractor, or the cost established by the participating municipality using the Société d'habitation du Québec price list, whichever is higher
