Increasing Text Size
To increase the text size on our Web pages, you can click on one of the suggested text size at the top of each pages, labelled small / medium / large.
You may also change the settings in your Web browser. Just follow the instructions below based on the browser you are using or see your browser's help for details.
Internet Explorer
- Select "View" in the menu bar.
- Select "Text Size"
- Select "Larger" or "Largest"
Mozilla Firefox
- Select "View" in the menu bar
- Select "Text Size"
- Select "Increase",
- To increase the text size further, continue selecting "Increase".
Opera
- Select "View" in the menu bar.
- Select "Zoom".
- From the menu, select the size with which you would like to view the Web site.
- To increase the text size further, increase the percentage.
Netscape
- Select "View" in the menu bar.
- Select "Text Size"
- From the menu, select the size with which you would like to view the Web site

Information on the Canada Benefits Web site is organized in a variety of ways, to make it easy for you to find information about government benefits and services. You can choose from the following:
Description of navigational options
I Am and Life Events
The choices listed under "I Am" and "Life Events" provide a quick list of benefits. Just click on the category ("Parent," "Unemployment," etc.) that best applies to you. If there is more than one choice that applies to you, start by choosing one. Once you're done with your first choice, return to the home page to make your second choice.
Benefits Finder
The Benefits Finder is a question and answer tool that helps you find benefits that you might be eligible for. Answer the questions, and the Benefits Finder will give you a customized list of benefits that match your answers.
The Benefits Finder does not ask for your name, and it does not save your answers.
A-Z Benefits Index
The A-Z Benefits Index is an alphabetical listing of all benefit programs listed on the Canada Benefits Web site. Simply click on a letter and select a keyword or a program from the list that appears. For example, if you're looking for the Canada Pension Plan you can click "C" for "Canada Pension Plan," or you can click "P" and look under "Pension."
Keyword Search
You can use the keyword search feature to find specific benefit programs. You can use either the quick search or the advanced search.
To use the quick search, type one or more keywords into the search box on the upper left of your screen.
To use the advanced search, click the black "Search" button on the top navigation bar.
Information throughout the Canada Benefits Web site is provided in HTML as the primary format. In some cases, other software formats are provided as alternatives. To open these alternate formats, you may need to download and install one or more of the following on your computer:

ZIP files
ZIP - Zip files compress data and therefore save time and space, and make downloading software faster. To open a Zip file , double click it in your browser and choose "Unzip or install from an existing Zip file" in the WinZip Wizard.
